The new company is slated to be fully established later in the fourth quarter of 2021, which will be helmed by Rimac founder and CEO Mate Rimac. Other members confirmed are Porsche CEO Oliver Blume and deputy chairman Lutz Meschke, who will be part of Rimac-Bugatti’s supervisory board. Its headquarters will be based in Zagreb, Croatia.
Under the new brand, Rimac and Bugatti will continue to operate as separate entities, therefore retaining their existing production facilities and channels of distribution. However, both companies will be working together by combining resources and expertise in terms of research and development, production, as well as other areas. That being said, the production of Rimac’s Nevara and Bugatt’s Chiron supercars will continue to be manufactured at their respective locations – namely Zagreb, Croatia and Molsheim, France respectively. It was not mentioned if we’ll be expecting new car models to debut under the new Rimac-Bugatti banner at this time.
Meanwhile, Mate Rimac also revealed during the announcement that the Croation electric supercar maker would form a new company known as Rimac Technology. He explained that it will comprise the brand’s development, production and supply of electric vehicle (EV) components as a separate entity, which is intended to work independently with other global car manufacturers.
