According to XDA’s hands-on with the Xperia 1 II, it appears that the new smartphone includes Heat Suppression (HS) Power Control feature as part of its Game Mode settings. Basically, it will allow users to power the phone directly via its charger without consuming energy from the phone’s battery. This also means that the battery will not be charged as long as the HS Power Control is activated during gaming sessions. The reason for the inclusion of this feature is simple. Gaming will take up a lot of processing power to run and will often drain battery power faster than usual. Therefore, it’s pretty common for users to also charge their phones while they game for long periods of time. The heat accumulated from intense processing and charging will eventually reduce a phone battery’s lifespan, even more so when both are occurring at the same time. The Heat Suppression Power Control setting aims to reduce these unnecessary thermal emissions to ensure a healthier battery life for the Sony Xperia 1 II. It is still uncertain whether the highly anticipated Sony flagship smartphone will be released soon in Malaysia. On the other hand, the Sony Xperia 10 II is confirmed to launch locally within this month and is priced at RM1,799. (Source: XDA)
